This portrait wants to talk about the “politically correct” world. One of the subject that I repeat in my work is the status of the artist and any other worker on art and culture as figure that have a position and is privileged but poor. This image want to talks about the fallacies that we all want to believe to feel better, one main fallacy being the permeability of the class system.
The precise making of this image. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I went to a private house to do work. The woman who I suppose to work for was not wearing a mask. I asked her if she could wear a mask. She replied that she was in her own house and she was not wearing a mask in her house. Her house was my work place. She is my age and live in SOHO. I was introduced to this woman by an acquaintance, who had labeled her as ‘class conscious.’
